Long time no see!

There are 21 different projects with source files. http://tapegerm.com/projectslist -- you'll need to be logged in to access them. Usually the files are available right on each project page. Sometimes they're found offsite, depending on how whoever's creating project chooses to do it. The Audio Bomb projects are eventually collected and put on archive.org (see the June Audio Bomb project). Those are ad hoc projects where anyone can add sources to them (just add to the thread).

Drop your source files for June 2016 here. They will be collected and archive.org'd after month's end and we'll begin again next month.

When uploading a track with one or more of these source, please include "Project-19" somewhere in your credits.

Tapegerm Questions, Tips

Start a Tapegerm project by going to your profile (click your name in the top menu), then click the "Projects" button tab and then click the "+" button to add a project.

Give your project a title and then tell us about it. There is no set way to do a project, so what you do is up to you. If you want to collect submissions for an album with a deadline for entries, include that information as well.

You may upload source files (zip compressed) up to 128MB. You may also link to files hosted elsewhere if you wish.

You may now determine which module first appears to visitors of your profile page. Just go to your profile page and click the settings button in the black bar on the right (your name is on the left).

You'll see a "Customize" tab -- click that and then select which module you want visitors to see. It's now set to Audio by default, which is probably what most will want, but some may want focus to be on youtube videos and others may want their blog posts to show when entering their profile page.

It's your choice.

Albums available on Internet Archive are now able to be posted in the Albums tab on your profile. The ID can be found in the URL. For example, the ID for the album at URL https://archive.org/details/TapegermCollectiveGermination2_001 is "TapegermCollectiveGermination2_001". You'll know if you enter it correctly because an embedded player will appear on your page. If not, then try again.

You'll see a new "Albums" tab available in your profile. This is to list any albums you have available. Currently bandcamp albums may be listed and we should have archive.org installed soon.

It's straightforward to add an album to your profile. The ID field calls for the unique identifier for the album on a particular service. For bandcamp, you can find the id by looking at the embed code. The ID is a number that looks something like "1343691167".
