Mystery Hearsay 9675 plays of 6 songs --> tapegerm home
Mystery Hearsay is the name for the solo musical projects of Mike Honeycutt. I started networking in the early eighties. I got a copy of C.L.E.M. and wrote to some of the contacts included in this vital pub (edited by Alex Douglas). Later I started mystery hearsay cassettes in 1983- and released a C60 of my solo recordings. The first step release provided me something to trade with. I networked more and more with other indie people and labels worldwide. This exchange led to starting my own cassette label of the same name. The next thing - activities expanded to compiling and releasing compilation cassettes from other indie minded contacts worldwide. NOW tapegerm has made it possible to do all this online
- COOL - very cool indeed.
Thanks for all the support fellow Germies! ... Good to see YOU and all the interesting Germination in here. I'll try to keep looping away like a good bacteria. Yes, just spreading the infection into new wounds everywhere.

TRACK LISTING ( play all hifi ) | ( play all lofi )

"My Very Foist Tape Germage"
1,207 plays
03:45
Genre: Experimental
Album: Tape_Germ_songs_one

I downloaded the sample pack then picked a few loops/samples by Heuristics Inc.,Virus Factory and Hebephrenic. It was my first experience using Garage Band on the mac. I like way you can add effects to the individual tracks much like other progs - Logic audio for example. GB seems to be simpler than other progs for some reason. I loaded the samples and started building the track. I then added a few bass synth and drum sounds using the built-in keyboard / midi sequencer. I floated some slide guitar over the mix - sorta like putting sprinkles on a cupcake - but more like if you used licorice and ash icing. Final editing was done in Peak with a little help from the steinberg Lmaximizer plug-in. I used loops from M.Nomized in this track. I added some Midi tracks in Garageband as well as some FX. One track was modified at King Klang studios then added back into Garageband for the final mix. M.Nomized is a Supporting Artist on Tape Germ - be sure to explore his soundz. Stay tuned for more from DJmysterymike and crew... Credits: M.Nomized Guest Artist and Mystery Hearsay

Recent feedback...

MezMnomizing
"A nice ethereal mix, it could be expanded into a very long mix but is perfect just as it is. Very nice."
-- davefuglewicz (on 03/24/07 21:11:25)

MezMnomizing
"Hi and fraternity... Very very cool ambient track. Too short for a trip but very long for a dream. A great moment. Thanx for this pleasure. M.Nomized."
-- m.nomized (on 03/24/07 06:03:08)

Space_Gloss
"A monumental and deep piece. Lost in a glacial wilderness, pleas of help going unheard, unable to wake from the dream that has engulfed me."
-- Don Campau (on 02/19/07 21:41:25)

Space_Gloss
"The grand meeting of two experimental music masters is a triumph of a mix. Soaring synths, crescendoing envelopes of drone. Has there ever been a full length Mystery Hearsay/ Mental Anguish collab? Let me be the first to suggest it. Well done gentlemen. "
-- Don Campau (on 02/10/07 16:44:22)

Space_Gloss
"Space is definitely the place in this cosmic slice of ear candy! Awesome slide guitar work! The perfect sonic journey through the dark confines of the Gonzmos."
-- Mental Anguish (on 02/10/07 07:07:12)
