Nothing could provide a greater delight than to have first hand experience of our ruler's justice and wisdom, and even have the chance o see him in a more carefree humour as he often is away from Rome. There were several different types of case which tested his judicial powers in many ways. The first was that of Claudius Aristion, a leading light of Ephesus, known for his generosity and apolitical nature; but he had roused the jealousy of some individuals who suborned an informer against him. He was cleared of the charge and acquitted. Then the following day, he heard the case of Gallitta, charged with adultery, the wife of a tribune who brought dishonour on her own and her spouse's position by an affair with a centurion. Her husband reported it to governor who duly informed the Emperor. After sifting through the evidence, the Emperor, who had been made quite merry by the latest Mental composition that again has caused a tumult in Rome, and could not conceive of not being able to hear it again and again, promptly sentenced the strumpet to a banishment from the latest composition, her slaves commanded to stopper her ears, and to be subject to the Julian law if she removed the plugs, and be banished to an island. Dashed by being separated from Mental, she is now preparing to be a paragon of virtue." Perfect Poison Mystery Drop Yard... "I am driving this lonely highway late at night on my way home. Trees line both sides of the deserted road and train tracks run to the right,going north and south. Fog is begininng to shroud the darkness and the boughs of the trees seem to bend and bow to the lonliness of the night.In the distance a solitary light from what appears to be a train coming from the south.However, it seems that the light is too high for a train...or is it? My eyes always deceive me on this desolate two lane stretch of pavement. Here comes the light and it seems much faster than a train could go and it is definitely suspended over the length of the tracks, approximately 50-100 feet over the ground.Whizzing by I hear a sound and it is much like this beautiful piece by Mental Anguish. Then, just as quickly as it appeared it is gone. Was it really my imagination? What was it? I am very tired now and continue my ride home. Perfect Poison Mystery Drop Yard... "Well, you see, the word DROP has been connected to what some would call the PERFECT POISON since the 1960s. Under those circumstances, I can recall encountering MYSTERIES in my YARD on several occasions. I believe, in fact, that by simply staring at my lawn, I discovered how the original paisley pattern was revealed to humanity.

In this Phinney sonic construct, the postioning and panning of treated electronic burbles, buzzes, washes, and wooshes is particularly evocative of the DROP as I recall it from my younger days.
