David Fuglewicz
Jane (night mix) 02:47/192k
+|-0-|+
Here's my take on Jeremy Gluck's Jane remix project, Project-30. The still of the midnight black slides in.
Full credits: 90%: the Project-30 files, I also added a couple samples made with the Adonis VST.

Buzzsaw & The Shavings
Ascertaining Attentions upon the Pole 08:00/256k
My venture into the realm of the Purpose Project of Dave von Fugle-de-la-Wicz, which indeed does indicate a certain mixery attention has indeed been bestowed upon the craft and the material of a certain and beloved domestic Pole. Credits: Project-27. Also includes loops by Eddie the Rat and Virus Factory. Genre: Experimental. Created: 07 May 2012 04:54 PM. Plays: 20 -->please comment (1).

Zebra Mann
Eulogy for the Restless Dead (Fuglewicz Mix) 07:03/128k
Nearly every sound in this song is the result of my futzing around with Dave's voice. Very little of it is actual guitar loops. Slowing down musical notes produces great effects; but slowing down voices is even more bizarre. Dave's voice starts at the very beginning, but you'd probably never guess it. Thanks Dave for supplying your voice for this collaboration. Credits: Dave Fuglewicz reading my PM poetry and two of my own guitar loops. Genre: Dark Ambient. Created: 30 Apr 2012 10:14 PM. Axel Mundi
Ethereal Symphonette 04:26/128k
I used approx 6 of the loops provided by Dave Fuglewicz, arranging, cutting, and timing them to coordinate with a rhythm track created by me, then jammed accompanying tracks on my Yamaha E303. A total of about 15 tracks. The loops were the inspiration; the jam tracks were the exposition. I felt that the loops provided such minimal guidance that the resulting composition was straight from intuition. The loops were the most important elements. They caused an eruption of unprocessed sound direct from the subconscious. Incidentally, I decided not to contribute any files to the project because Dave's are so intriguingly minimal that I think it would be diluting to add more. Just my impression... Credits: project-27, Axel Mundi. Genre: Psychedelic. Created: 22 Mar 2012 09:31 AM. Plays: 56 -->please comment (3).

Buzzsaw & The Shavings
Emulating an Offer of the Brane-Cantenac 05:30/192k
Me burgeoning craft with the keyboard is proving to be a most intoxicating experience even if the keys do not yield Cabernet Sauvignon nor Cabernet Franc nor Merlot. Fortunately corks remain optional and I ever spurn labels other than those derived of Margaux. Credits: Includes loops by Mental Anguish, Virus Factory, Cystem and the Magical Cigarette. Genre: Piano. Created: 21 Mar 2012 06:36 PM. Plays: 32 -->please comment (1).

Michael A Cosma
Mutronix_CutTheBottomOff 03:27/192k
Took the Dan Richert Casio PT180 Circuit Bending Project loops/sounds and arranged them in Linux Multimedia Studio. Used Printer Start up by Dave Fuglewicz from the Hidden Voices project. I cut the printer noise way down and kept slowing it down on each cut. By the time I was done I could see it in Audacity and the meters were slammin but there was no audible sound output. At this point I added some reverb to see if it would produce a sound - not really - so then I added a Mutron effect this did produce sound on the waveform I already had up so I blended this with the Circuit Bent Loops arrangement and called it a night it was tight and outta sight done up just right about midnight. Credits: Project-19,Project-26. Genre: Primordial Panderings. Created: 19 Mar 2012 11:08 PM. Plays: 33 -->please comment (1).

Wondering and wandering

by Zebra Mann

Those of you who have been wondering where I have been, I've been quite busy. Things are only going to get busier. I have returned to full time employment, I will be moving to a new house in about five weeks, and will be dealing with all the stuff that comes with that. I have lived in my present house for 21 years, so I have a lot of stuff to move. I have been diddling with sounds and such a bit, but nothing worthy to be posted here.

So I am informing you all that I am going to take a hiatus from TG for awhile. Probably most of the summer. I will be on seasonal unemployment in the Fall, and things should have quieted down in real life by then.

I plan on posting some new Halloween themed songs and even have some ideas for that particular holiday. so if you don't see me around, you know why.

Vocoder, Everglades, DS-8, & Chant: Amphibian Phashionettes

by C. Goff III

Four orchestrated promenades through conscious dreams of unlit swamps. Recommended soundtrack for long road trips where the traffic is sparse and the road signs are few. Also good for painting dark aquamarine on canvass.

Crediting Projects

by David Fuglewicz

Fellow Tapegermers, when you credit a Project, do not forget the hyphen. For example, Project 27, the Purpose Project should be credited "Project-27". Otherwise Jamroom won't connect it to the Project page.

Zombie for Love(27)

by Jeremy Gluck

Ok, so I haven't done much here for too long. Back today with a new composition in tandem with long-time 'germ star collaborator The Dave. Let it Blood.

And what have I been doing? So much that I can't hardly write it all here. A healthy smattering of Tapegerm output on my new online release UNROCK on Electronic Musik. A whole pile of new work with Don Tyler (see link) and new work with The Dave coming soon.

Meanwhile the debut Carbon Manual album is underway in its mixing. And my beloved Barracudas are playing Tokyo, and Italian festivals, soon.

New Sources files

by David Fuglewicz

In 1990 I composed a piece called "Every Electric Part Of You" releasing it in 1992 on a cassette album of the same name. While reviewing unreleased material of that era, for inclusion on my forthcoming posting of that cassette album to archive.org I came across the first version of "Every Electric Part Of You", which included quite a few segments from a sound effects record I had. I decided against developing it further because of the copyright issue and wanting to be all "me". Over the past couple nights I have created some source files that are all me from that first version and have posted them to the Sources page at Tapegerm.com. Number five features one if the rare occasions where I play guitar. Go get them and do something.

For Fans Of Frippish Homage... Obscured By Dolls

by C. Goff III

All sounds generated by electronic guitar or fed through electronic guitar pickups (no synthesizers). A variety of electronic sound effects, including a loop duplicator, orchestrate improvised tone phrases into ever-building washes of layered sonority. In essence, each piece starts as a minimalist drip and gradually morphs into the audio equivalent of the spray from a wide-open faucet.

The audio tools employed to create these recordings include:

Reflector Stratocaster Electronic Guitar
Electronic Guitar Sound Effect Pedals
Electronic Sound Generators (Toys, Vibrators)
Guitar Preparations (Beaver Jaw, Arrow Head, Chromium Slide, Music Box, Fishing Lure, Etc.)
Yamaha FX 500 Effects Unit
Boss RC 20X Loop Station Loop Duplicator

"A treat for the ears. It sounds like someone might have a bounty of source files one might package and offer up as a project here on Tapegerm."-- Blind Mime (on 04/05/12 01:36:37)

"Thanks for tuning in and for the positive reinforcement, Mr. Mime. As for the "source files" you are hearing, this recording is a live performance, so the only "source" is the thing it then was and now is -- one big astral promenade. Your idea for a TG project, however, is now a seedling in my cerebral soil."-- C. Goff III (on 04/05/12 09:48:07)

the Purpose Project = Awesome

by Blind Mime

I just have to say, Dave Fuglewicz's Purpose Project is Magnificent! And the Purpose album is shaping up to be an entirely unique Tapegerm experience; one that showcases the distinct beauty underlying the Tapegerm collaboration mileau. For me, it is these kinds of projects where Tapegerm proves itself to be an uncommon collective of collaborators. The kind of project where the original sources are allowed to speak through varied artistic perspectives and an album of recordings plays like a new kind of multi-movement symphony and gathers a perspicuous theme that is present in each offering. It's the kind of project that entices you to add your own stroke -- so go do it, click on the link and be a part of it.

I can't wait to hear it.

"I hope my recent submission makes the final playlist!"-- (on 03/31/12 15:41:07)

Two files for Hidden Voices.

I've added two files to the Hidden Voices project. They are a recording of my printer starting up and an electric shoe polisher. While I haven't tried slowing the files down, I think they are good candidates for this project.

Umm ... WTF? Oh! Yes, I see.

by Kamakura

I am behoved to say I was confused when I arrived back at Tapegerm (after a long sojourn visiting other parts of the interweb) to find the site entirely changed. So entirely changed it was that I thought I'd entered the wrong address into my travelling machine. But no. I was in the right place. :)

I gather the design pixies have had at it: and very attractive the new Tapegerm is, too. Not quite so black: not so dark, broody, moody and bleak. Sad to say I haven't been here in a while. ut now i am I can't even find out if I need dosh to post more 'tunes' or if that requirement has gone as well.

Unless, of course, I really have travelled to another space-time-continuum. Maybe Buzzy is now President. The mind boggles. 8)

-->please comment (3)

"We are all presidents, even you Kama. You have been gone a while and have been sorely missed but as always Tapegerm is ever ready to welcome back it's old citizens. There is an evolution going on at Tapegerm, membership is open to one and all, and while donations to the cause are appreciated they are not required. There are new features all over the place, particularly the Projects feature. Lots, lots more, but I'll leave it to you to discover. If you are confused, ask a question, if you are on Facebook, join the Tapegerm page: http://www.facebook.com/groups/tapegerm/ That forum would be better suited to question, answer and comment. Let's make some music."-- David Fuglewicz (on 03/05/12 20:19:53)

"yo man I don't really appreciate your pretense towards this collective. I'm recent on it, but uniquely there is something going on here. Walking in and proclaiming what you think about the past should be welcome to some open forum bullshit. So, in the vibe of Tapegerm I'd like to work on some of your tracks..."-- Indigents (on 03/10/12 01:13:07)

New source file loops

by Blind Mime

I thought I'd make it an early morning loop making kind of thing this morning. Clicked the record button and just starting playing with different things: toy percussion and horn things, synth sounds, acoustic guitar and a vocal thrown in. Find it all on the Blind Mime Infection open source page. Or go to Zebra Mann's "Hidden Voices" project page, where I've made 9 of the 14 new loops available for his project as well.

BuzzyVocals

Catching up with a rabbit?...

by International Garbageman

Long time no see... one could say. Just want to re-connect a little with the wonderful collective of Tapegerm. Have been doing so lots of different things the last years but it is is unavoidable, and surely I don´t want to avoid it either..., I always come back here in different ways. Sometimes for doing a fast mix, more seldom the last years to make some loops and samples. Now with this new interfaces that the core members of TG has implemented in the web interface TG is more than well suited for a lot of collaborative experimentation. I surely want to check this out now! Both by participating in the projects popping up, but also by proposing some myself. We´ll keep in touch!! :-) ... yeah, and what about the rabbit... hmm... i dunno really, we´ll see

Quantum Swamp

"I love listening to Tapegerm via the Net Album Generator. I mean, I come across gems like this track, nearly 7 years old now, and I'm just blown away by it. The roiling waves of Hal McGee's swamp pulses bounce beautifully against the Buzz groove. Really good stuff, Dave!" -- Blind Mime (on 05/20/12 18:46:19)

GAJOOB
GAJOOB began as a local Salt Lake City zine, but by its second issue was largely focusing on the underground network of home recording artists and its cassette culture. Its DiY Report was one of the early music resource e-publications and its archive of 1000's of reviews has been online since 1992. Currently a new electronic publication on recording arts is being developed. Website: http://gajoob.net
