Buzzsaw & The Shavings Mission Beach Hears a Mirthful Tiki 05:12/192k
It must be stated that wood, even devoid of the garb of paint and the precision of the artful chisel at length illustrated a toothy grin must bray hilarity both over the three hundred governments of the Holy Roman Empire and the three attempts to still a wholly roaming Buzzyloop loop entire. Zebra Mann Eulogy for the Restless Dead 13:44/128k
Every time I listen to the music on my mp3 player, I get the urge to remix many of my previous sound sculptures. First one down, several more to go. Zebra Mann Hidden Voices part 1 05:49/128k
The first song to come out of my Hidden Voices project. Each selected portion of submitted loopage was slowed by at least 25%, and most were amplified many times to bring the hidden voices out. This is the first of who knows how many more. Thanks to all who submitted sounds. I hope you like it. Buzzsaw & The Shavings Inummerable Giddy Orbits in Amontillado 05:00/192k
Affability, conviviality and affirmation grow to maturity upon a sun-lit patio, circling about an axis of sherry, and useful emotions to maintain and vanquish their opposites, inevitable as this mix is soon to be played. Distant Trains Explortation Meditation 09:38/320k
Part of an album in progress called Explortation, loosely built around jamming on top some old tapes of me mucking about with a guitar and digital delay, but also finding some Tapegerm loops getting sprinkled in. They don't come in until about the last 1/3 or this one; I think they came from the 12-pack project and some other package. I can probably dig up which exact loops they are if requested. Blind Mime Metamorphosis (watching from another room) 05:15/256k
I recorded opening and closing an iron cage in an old slaughterhouse in downtown Salt Lake City. It's where I store GAJOOB submission material (it's been climatized). I found an ARP2600 app for Android that is extremely unpredictable so it's very well-suited to my tastes. Zebra Mann's bass loops have been wrung through various effects. Zebra Mann Hidden Voices part 1
"An excellent study in the sounds that are within sounds Zee. You have uncovered a whole new world for us to enjoy. Well done. And thanks for using my Coagula file." -- David Fuglewicz (on 01/30/12 21:00:16)
Omnitechnomatrix Traces Of Life
"Such a masterful, beautiful stroke of music making. If I think about the title, perhaps it's like life bursting out. Seeds of change at the moment of explosion." -- Blind Mime (on 01/30/12 20:01:42)
Omnitechnomatrix The Tunnel
"Setting the Wayback machine to... back in the late 60's and early 70's there was a movement to wed classical and rock, many name bands like Deep Purple, Spooky Tooth, Procol Harum, Al Kooper's Blood Sweat & Tears and The Nice made excellent forays into the genre. "The Tunnel" stands right up there with those bands and carves a spot all its own. Quite a surprise too Cory, a different vehicle then most of your masterpieces, proving to us all that you can work many different genres with a unique style all your own. Very well done." -- David Fuglewicz (on 01/25/12 20:10:11)
Buzzsaw & The Shavings Inummerable Giddy Orbits in Amontillado

Zebra Mann Hidden Voices part 1
"Well, one voice is definitely obvious in this piece, Mr. Mann. I can clearly hear the ghost of Carl Jung telling me to go to sleep and dream about Rick Perry telling me to drive to South Carolina and clandestinely vote for Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin in the Republicrat Primary. Then of course, Jung tells me to swallow the dose of cyanide that I have waiting in the Heart of Dixie Cup. I have been avoiding the internet, so don't look for me here much, but look for me in your own dreams. " -- C. Goff III (on 01/19/12 12:15:38)
Zebra Mann Of The Future
"I love sci fi too Zee and this track is very cool, very cool indeed. Composition, production and execution are top notch as usual. And thanks for using a slice of my Frenzy." -- David Fuglewicz (on 01/16/12 20:43:24)
Buzzsaw & The Shavings Gathering Corners in Grey
"This is a wonderful mix, and for some reason, the dance hall scenes from the movie Carnival of Souls comes to mind while listening to it. Very spooky, and full of a dark ambiance that makes me want to hear more. " -- Zebra Mann (on 01/13/12 01:03:04)
Blind Mime Metamorphosis (watching from another room)
"very nice piece, and the music accentuates the story telling perfectly. I've never read Metamorphosis by Kafka, but you can bet I will now. Thanks for using my sounds, even though I cannot figure which ones they were. :-)" -- Zebra Mann (on 01/13/12 00:57:46)
Michael A Cosma The Mutant Plan 91
"Very interesting piece, the mangled voices are fascinating, and listening to this made me grin like a deranged gargoyle. I hope that was your intention. I think I may have to look and see if I have that Plan 9 from Outer Space DVD around here and watch it again. " -- Zebra Mann (on 01/13/12 00:48:10)
Distant Trains Explortation Recuperation
"Is it weird that I find myself singing along to these tracks? Incidentally, if you credit the loops you use (author and/or project) your recording will show up on those profile and project pages. It's cool to hear how source material changes and evolves from track to track. and I love where you're taking things. " -- Blind Mime (on 01/09/12 09:19:19)
David Fuglewicz Hyper-Drive
"Wow, Dave, this one could go on forever. It keeps servin' up tasty little effects in all the right places. You really key into the Omni matrix." -- Blind Mime (on 01/09/12 09:02:37)

Tapegerm (May 1, 2000 - Feb 4, 2012) is a space for free artistic exchange in creative sound recording. Artists initiate projects and freely make sources available in collaboration with other artists. Participation is free. Tapegerm is an open idea whose rules are made to be reinterpreted. Visit the "About" page for details and...
At last those promised keyboard loops are available in the Buzzsaw Open Source loop page, ten in total, although they bear hopes of a much greater number that the craft of others shall overcome and obscure an edge so rough all soft and yielding surfaces break out in chasms three counties away.
I've recently uploaded 20 new keyboard loops, and they come pre-mangled to help cut down the amount of work you have to do to them. Feel free to peruse them at your leisure, and enjoy yourself. They will be labeled as excerpts from 160, 161, etc. If all else fails, check the date. That usually helps.
I'll be recording an album at Tapegerm starting tomorrow. This morning I was thinking about that and thinking about a title. I wandered around a few title generators on the web and found myself following a generator which had me looking at quotes on wikipedia and I came across quotes from Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. There are lots of horrid visions in Titus, meat for many a cruel noise meal of titles; but I settle myself with this: The eagle suffers little birds to sing.
The eagle suffers little birds to sing, and is not careful what they mean thereby, Knowing that with the shadow of his wings He can at pleasure stint their melody: Even so mayest thou the giddy men of Rome.
After an age of employing the notes and chords and looped arrangements of others, through the esteemed and celebrated Herr Mann, I have attained a keyboard and am making furious 'dischordant' salutations. After an age nearly as long as me residence in Germania, I shall be adding to my Open Loops folder tardily repaying abundance...gads, did that sound ominous...
"I await with bated breath for the forthcoming loopage Sir Buzz. My imagination is already restless with the potential possibilities."-- David Fuglewicz (on 01/27/12 07:25:34)
Enter the Daphne Oram Tribute competition hosted by The Science Museum/OraMix on SoundCloud. Ten sound files of Daphne
Oram recordings are provided and the challenge is to create a new composition using those sound files. There aren't many restrictions, here's the link for more information, etc.: http://oramics.herokuapp.com/ Unfortunately, there are only six days left to submit a work, I just read about it yesterday.
Someone requested that I add more bass guitar loops to my open loops folder. Your wish has been granted. They should be all uploaded by first thing Tuesday morning. Glad that you find them so mix-worthy. :>) You can find the new ones labeled as series 155, 156, and 157.
I am looking for some interesting loops/recordings of everyday sounds that can be manipulated by slowing them down. I have found that some musical notes as well as other found sounds reveal hidden voices/sounds/noises when slowed down to the extreme. I would be interested in doing this effect on sounds anyone could send to me for a compilation project. Email me a small sound file that you would like to submit to this project. Not all sounds will be able to be manipulated in this way, but I will let you know which ones work before creating the finished collaboration. Let's find the hidden in the ordinary and mundane.
"Zee, you should add this to the Projects."-- David Fuglewicz (on 12/01/11 20:26:29)
"This sounds interesting - I want to do this - where do I send the sounds - "-- Michael A Cosma (on 12/02/11 11:09:17)
"I decided to record some sounds for this and I uploaded the videos to YouTube and the wav files to SoundCloud. You can find the wav files here: http://soundcloud.com/mudballrecords
And if you click on the track to get the full information the video links are there. The files are the ones with the name LMNF in them. More to come as I recorded several more but no more time to upload tonight. "-- Michael A Cosma (on 12/03/11 01:16:16)
"I love slow sounds. I recently did a collab with Dan Reaves where I sent him slowed-down toy xylophone which sounds really cool. I'll upload some stuff."-- Blind Mime (on 12/05/11 09:29:40)
"I recently joined sound cloud to make my sounds available to a wider audience. Here is the link, let me know if it doesn't work. http://soundcloud.com/zebra_mann"-- Zebra Mann (on 12/05/11 11:20:35)
"You may, of course, take any sound in my open loop directory and alter it."-- Blind Mime (on 12/22/11 08:27:29)

I always enjoyed the merging of music with well-chosen samples .. good dialogue, philosophy off the beaten track and so I now write lyrics/poems that are good-humored; concise.. I've had much positive feedback on my voice and so I intend to offer some sample recordings to those of you that are looking for some talk to lay over your audio sound-scape.. I can spot cynicism at a thousand yards... Website:

DIRECTORS
Tapegerm is run as a cooperative effort. The artists below act as Directors. All web maintenance and programming is voluntary. Web hosting and bandwidth costs are paid through donations during an annual fundraising compaign. The next campaign is scheduled for February 2013.
A note about rights: Tapegerm is a collaborative community of recording artists who own the rights to their own creative work and wish
to participate in creative work with other artists in an open forum of free exchange. Creating something is mostly the end result,
but we do have rules which govern artists' rights as they pertain to Tapegerm activity.
Works which utilize source files at tapegerm.com are
generally subject to Creative Commons License Attribution-Noncommercial-
No Derivative Works 3.0. This means we invite everyone to share recordings (finished works) found on tapegerm.com as long as complete
attribution is provided. This information is found in the track credits listed on the website. Source files are owned by the artist
submitting them and may not be destributed in any fashion without approval directly from the artist.
Artists creating a finished work utilizing source files found on tapegerm.com have additional rights, beyond distribution of finished work.
The creator of a finished work also owns all publishing rights and only he or she may license the track commercially.
All licensing requests for recordings found on Tapegerm should be made directly from the artist who made them.
Certain projects posted on Tapegerm may have rights which supercede Tapegerm's standard rights above. For instance, a project for an exclusive
label release might retain all distribution rights. Read each project's description for any specific rights policy it may have.
Any questions or disputes concerning these rights may be submitted to the Directors
whose decision is final.
